We are seeking a skilled Lead Cloud Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a strong foundation in application development. Responsibilities Develop and implement scalable and efficient cloud solutions using GCP, following established architecture standards Build and deploy Java applications utilizing GCP-native services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub Design comprehensive application architectures that align with organizational goals Select and integrate GCP services to fulfill both functional and non-functional requirements Demonstrate expertise in GCP PaaS, serverless technologies, and database solutions Offer technical leadership and mentorship to development and infrastructure teams throughout the project lifecycle Ensure that all cloud solutions adhere to security and regulatory compliance requirements Optimize cloud solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness Stay informed about new GCP technologies and industry trends to incorporate into projects Work with GCP GenAI tools like Vertex AI and Gemini models Utilize front-end technologies such as Angular or React when needed Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline More than 5 years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role At least 1 year of experience leading and managing technical teams Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining applications on GCP Proficiency in GCP services, including GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Firebase, Apigee, and App Engine Familiarity with GCP AI tools like Vertex AI and Gemini Code Assist Knowledge of additional GCP services such as Memorystore, Service Mesh, and Cloud Monitoring Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security measures within GCP environments In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture principles and methodologies Experience with DevOps practices and tools for automation, such as Terraform Proficient in English, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher Nice to have Experience with processing and analyzing large-scale data on cloud platforms Understanding of multi-cloud strategies and hybrid cloud environments Proven ability to mentor and train team members on cloud technologies and workflows We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities Opportunity to join and participate in life of EPAM's Employee Resource Groups EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Show more Show less
