We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Cloud Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and a strong background in application development. In this role, you will lead the design, execution, and optimization of cloud-based solutions, while providing technical direction and mentorship to teams working on complex projects. Responsibilities Design and deliver scalable, efficient cloud solutions on GCP that align with architectural standards Develop and deploy Java applications using GCP-native services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Firestore, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub Create detailed application architecture designs to meet organizational goals Identify and implement GCP services to address both functional and operational needs Apply advanced knowledge of GCP platform services, serverless technologies, and database solutions Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams throughout all phases of project execution Ensure cloud solutions comply with security protocols and regulatory standards Optimize cloud solutions for better performance, scalability, and cost management Stay informed about new developments in GCP technologies and integrate relevant advancements into projects Utilize GCP GenAI tools such as Vertex AI and Gemini models Incorporate front-end technologies like Angular or React as needed Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field At least 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering or similar positions A minimum of 1 year of experience managing and directing technical teams Proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining applications on GCP Expertise in GCP services, including GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Firebase, Apigee, and App Engine Familiarity with GCP AI tools such as Vertex AI and Gemini Code Assist Knowledge of additional GCP services like Memorystore, Service Mesh, and Cloud Monitoring Strong understanding of cloud security principles and experience implementing security measures within GCP environments In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture frameworks and best practices Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and automation technologies such as Terraform Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher Nice to have Experience working with large-scale data processing and cloud-based analytics Understanding of multi-cloud strategies and hybrid cloud implementations Proven ability to mentor and train teams on cloud technologies and methodologies We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Healthcare benefits Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities Opportunity to join and participate in life of EPAM's Employee Resource Groups EPAM Employee Groups Award-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Show more Show less
