About the role

We are looking for Lead Backend Engineer to join our growing team. As Aspire enters its next phase of growth, we are building the next-generation architecture that will power our products across South-East Asia and beyond. We’re seeking highly skilled engineers with diverse technical backgrounds to help us accelerate innovation and strengthen our systems.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance fintech products.
• Define software architecture and build resilient, fault-tolerant systems.
• Build and optimize microservices-based architectures for scalability and maintainability.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, and UX.

Minimum qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 6–10 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Node.js, PHP).
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Skilled in reviewing code, identifying issues, and upholding code quality standards.
• Hands-on experience with unit testing, integration testing, and debugging.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications :

• Experience with full-stack development (frontend and/or mobile).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices on AWS, databases, and monitoring tools.
• Prior exposure to the fintech domain is a strong plus.
• AI-first approach to product development—leveraging AI/ML tools, frameworks, or automation to improve scalability, efficiency, and user experience.
