Job Objective
Laundry Manager is responsible for hotel laundry operations and services. Positions, directs and works with associates to wash, dry and iron linen for both guest rooms and Food and Beverage/Culinary Department within existing time constraints to meet the brand’s standards, targets customer needs, elevates associate satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues, maximizes the financial performance of the department and oversees the development & implementation of the departmental strategies
As an area incharge, develops and implements department strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer, resulting in creating an iconic and profitable hotel.
Essential Job Tasks
Being updated with the new trends, pushing for innovation and strategizing plans for the department, based on the observations.
Monitoring cost and budgets for the department
Inspection of Laundry, Linen & Uniform room and ensuring that all the standards are adhered to.
Areas of Responsibility
  • Review the operational and capex budget for the department keeping in line with the overall strategy. Analyze the laundry cost and competitor pricing and determine appropriate laundry prices.
  • For the new fabric, linen, uniforms and chemicals coming to the hotel, conduct testing as per approved specifications. Prepare the report & send to appropriate authorities
  • Conduct random testing of washed linen for conformance to standards. Test the samples for shrinkage, fastness and GSM before actual approval.
  • Check on the quality of water, air pressure, steam pressure, monitor loading and unloading of machines, collect data from front office on occupancy expected, allocate employees to various operations and interact with guests to ensure their preferences are met.
  • Monitor monthly reports on laundry operations including cost and revenue earned. Analyze the inventory and its correlation with the consumption pattern and quality. Take corrective action as required. Prepare budgets for room and bathroom linen, F&B linen, all necessary chemicals & cleaning equipment etc.
  • Monitor the fuel and water consumption.
  • Partner with the HR Department in all employee related initiatives. Prepare rosters and conduct employee briefings.
  • In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions, any other assignment given by the management within the scope of job.
  • Adherence to the Tata code of conduct, safety policies and values of the organization as defined.

Required Qualifications
Diploma/Graduate in any discipline and advanced knowledge in Hospitality Management, Textile Mangement and Housekeeping Management.
