Laboratory Operations Manager

As the Environmental PCR Laboratory Manager at Delhi Airport, you will be responsible for overseeing a PCR laboratory dedicated to wastewater testing. Your role is crucial to supporting biosecurity measures and enhancing health surveillance efforts, ultimately contributing to early detection and pandemic preparedness. You will lead a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring smooth operations through effective scheduling, resource planning, and workflow coordination. Compliance with lab safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards will be a key focus area under your supervision. Executing and optimizing PCR assays, including RNA extraction and purification, will be part of your responsibilities. Troubleshooting technical issues, mentoring staff, and improving procedures for accuracy and efficiency will be integral to your role. Implementing robust quality control measures, maintaining accurate documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives will be essential in ensuring reliable results. Accurate data collection, analysis, and timely reporting, as well as interpretation of PCR results, will be crucial aspects of your work. You will manage and maintain PCR equipment, coordinate repairs and calibrations, and monitor inventory to ensure the availability of necessary laboratory supplies and reagents. Training and mentoring lab personnel, staying updated on PCR technologies, and promoting a culture of continuous learning will be part of your responsibilities. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in molecular biology, genetics, or a related field. Previous experience in PCR lab operations and team leadership is required, along with strong skills in assay development, optimization, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in lab information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis tools, excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are necessary for success in this role. A willingness to travel on short notice and take on mid-term assignments, as well as a strong team orientation and customer-focused mindset, are also important qualities.,
