As a Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory Technician / Associate in our Molecular Diagnostics department, you will play a crucial role in our team's operations during the night shift from 8 PM to 8 AM. With a M.Sc. in Biotechnology or Microbiology and 2 to 2.5 years of hands-on experience in a Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, you will be responsible for conducting various molecular biology techniques on diverse biological samples. Your primary responsibilities will include performing DNA and RNA extractions from different biological specimens, executing Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Real-Time PCR (RT-PCR) assays, and conducting gel electrophoresis for nucleic acid analysis. It will be essential for you to maintain meticulous documentation of experimental procedures and results, adhere to established protocols, and ensure quality control throughout the diagnostic processes. Additionally, you will be expected to assist in troubleshooting and optimizing molecular assays, while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards. To excel in this role, you must possess expertise in accurate micropipetting handling, automation and manual DNA/RNA extraction methods, conventional PCR, Real-Time PCR (RT-PCR), and agarose gel electrophoresis. A good understanding of molecular diagnostic workflows, attention to detail, and the ability to precisely follow protocols are crucial for success. Strong organizational and documentation skills are also necessary to maintain efficient laboratory operations. Preferred attributes for this position include effective communication and team collaboration skills, familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), and a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
