Team Leader Key Account Management (KAM)

Role Overview

The KAM Team Leader at E-commerce is responsible for managing a team of Key Account Managers who handle strategic brand and seller accounts on the E-commerce platform. The role focuses on driving business growth, improving brand performance, ensuring operational excellence, and strengthening long-term partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and monitor a team of Key Account Managers
  • Set clear performance targets and KPIs for the team
  • Conduct regular reviews, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure high levels of engagement, productivity, and accountability

Account & Brand Management

  • Oversee management of key brand/seller accounts on E-commerce
  • Drive GMV growth, revenue, and profitability for assigned portfolios
  • Ensure optimal assortment planning, pricing, and inventory availability
  • Support KAMs in resolving escalations and critical partner issues

Business Growth & Strategy

  • Develop and execute category and brand growth strategies
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, new launches, and exclusive partnerships
  • Collaborate with internal teams (category, marketing, supply chain, finance)
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and consumer behavior

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new brands/sellers
  • Monitor SLAs, catalog quality, fulfillment, and returns
  • Drive process improvements to enhance seller and customer experience
  • Ensure compliance with E-commerce policies and guidelines

Data & Performance Analysis

  • Track key metrics such as sales, conversion, AOV, inventory turns, and returns
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for senior management
  • Use data-driven insights to guide decisions and improve performance

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management
  • Analytical mindset with strong Excel/data interpretation skills
  • Good understanding of e-commerce, fashion retail, or marketplace operations
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

Key Success Metrics

  • GMV and revenue growth of managed account
  • Team performance and target achievement
  • Brand/seller satisfaction and retention
  • Operational KPIs (SLA, inventory health, catalog quality)

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree (MBA preferred)
  • Atleast 1-2 years on paper Team Leader experience for KAM is required
  • 48 years of experience in Key Account Management, Category Management, or E-commerce
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring teams preferred
  • Experience in fashion, retail, or marketplace platforms is a plus

Salary Budget is upto 7 LPA
