The Junior Researcher will be an integral part of IAR’s multidisciplinary research team, providing critical support for data-driven studies on ageing in India. This position offers exposure to all facets of gerontology research—fieldwork, analysis, and knowledge dissemination—while ensuring compliance with high ethical standards. The Junior Researcher will work closely with senior researchers and other members to generate evidence, develop policy insights, and advance HelpAge India’s commitment to high-impact, inclusive research.
o Assist in conducting primary research, including administering field surveys, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, and supporting interviews on issues like geriatric health, elder abuse, digital inclusion, and social security gaps.
o Maintain accurate records of research activities and ensure data integrity during collection and entry processes.
o Support the analysis of program data, helping to identify beneficiary feedback, best practices, and implementation challenges for ageing-related projects.
o Participate in the preparation and review of policy papers, research reports, newsletters, and presentations under guidance from senior team members.
o Contribute to the maintenance and organization of IAR’s data repository and digital knowledge portal.
o Help track research KPIs and outputs using monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks developed by the Institute.
o Assist with organization and logistics for seminars, workshops, fellowships, and collaborative forums focused on ageing research.
o Prepare and draft materials for internal and external knowledge dissemination, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
o Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment, supporting partnership activities with universities, NGOs, and government agencies, as assigned.
o Uphold strict ethical standards, ensuring data security, confidentiality, and inclusivity in all research activities.
o Demonstrate eagerness to learn—actively seeking feedback, participating in professional development, and engaging in policy advocacy efforts.
· Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Economics, or related field (interest in gerontology preferred).
· 3–5 years’ experience in research, data entry, or social project assistance; exceptional recent graduates or those with relevant internships are encouraged to apply.
· Working knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis, and tools such as Excel, SPSS, Google Workspace, or similar.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings through written reports and presentations.
· Understanding of India’s ageing issues, including NCDs, loneliness, elder rights, and social pensions.
· Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate, learn, and contribute proactively to the Institute's goals.
· Commitment to ethical research practice, social impact, and professional growth.
