Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot)

About The Opportunity

This hybrid-role is with a product-led engineering team designing and shipping production-grade Spring Boot microservices that support mission-critical, real-time communications workflows. You will design, implement and maintain backend services, improve system reliability and mentor peers to raise engineering standards across the stack.Role & Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs for high-throughput, low-latency systems.
Develop robust data access layers using Spring Data / Hibernate and optimise SQL queries for PostgreSQL/MySQL.
Drive CI/CD automation, create unit/integration tests (JUnit, Mockito) and maintain high test coverage and code quality.
Collaborate with product and QA to convert requirements into reliable features and lead design reviews for new modules.
Troubleshoot production incidents, profile performance hotspots and implement reliability improvements and observability instrumentation.
Mentor junior engineers, define engineering best-practices and contribute to architecture decisions for microservices and data patterns.

Additional Qualifications

3+ years of hands-on backend development experience (Java + Spring Boot) working on production services.
Proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and familiarity with caching/NoSQL (Redis, Elasticsearch) is a plus.
Comfortable working in Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, code reviews and on-call rotations.
