IT Support Engineer

As a member of Dharmakit Networks, a leading provider in the network infrastructure solutions sector, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of critical network environments across India. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving complex network incidents related to LAN, WAN, routing, and switching. You will diagnose and address hardware issues on routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices, performing repairs, replacements, and configurations as necessary. Utilizing packet capture tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump, you will analyze traffic patterns to identify root causes of network latency or packet loss. Managing tickets end-to-end via platforms like ServiceNow or JIRA, you will triage incoming incidents, escalate issues to engineering teams, and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Additionally, you will conduct routine network audits, firmware upgrades, patch management, and preventive maintenance tasks on critical infrastructure. Documenting resolutions, creating knowledge-base articles, and delivering technical training to on-site staff and end users will be essential aspects of your responsibilities. A strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, and network security fundamentals is required, along with proficiency in packet analysis tools and hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting network devices. Familiarity with incident management platforms and ITIL processes, as well as excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions, are also key requirements for this role. For preferred qualifications, knowledge of network monitoring platforms, SNMP, and operating systems, as well as advanced Linux/Unix command-line skills for server diagnostics, would be beneficial.
