Role Description

IT Infrastructure Specialist

Key Responsibility


Infrastructure Design & Implementation:

  • Design and deploy scalable and secure IT infrastructure including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, LAN/WAN, firewalls, and cloud environments.


Network Administration:

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points to ensure reliable connectivity and security.


Server & Storage Management:

  • Administer Windows/Linux servers, virtual machines (VMware/Hyper-V), backup systems, and storage (SAN/NAS) solutions.


Cloud Systems Support:

  • Implement and maintain cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including hybrid infrastructure integration, security, and performance optimization.


Security & Compliance:

  • Ensure systems and networks are secure through firewall rules, access controls, patch management, antivirus/antimalware, and compliance with relevant security standards.


Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and health; respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.


User Support & Device Management:

  • Manage and support end-user computing devices (desktops, laptops, printers, VoIP, mobile devices), resolve user issues, and provide technical guidance.


Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain clear documentation of network diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident reports.


Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and backup strategies to ensure data integrity and system availability.

Required Skills and Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Certification: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent (CompTIA Network+, MCSA, etc.).
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, including servers, storage, networking, and security.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, sub netting, routing, and switching.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and backup tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid environments.
  • Solid knowledge of IT security practices, firewalls, VPNs, antivirus, and access control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
