Description
Role & responsibilities Strategic Leadership Oversee IT infrastructure across data centres, firewall policies, provisioning, and endpoint security. Lead and manage L1/L2 IT teams; enforce high operational standards via KPIs and SOPs. Create and continuously refine SOPs for governance, disaster recovery, and security compliance. Data Center & Server Operations Lead deployment and maintenance of enterprise-grade servers (Dell, Cisco, Supermicro, Huawei). Manage co-location setups (NSE, BSE, STT, Yotta): racking, liquid cooling, cabling, power planning. Configure BIOS overclocking, IPMI/iLO access, network booting, and remote diagnostics. Linux & System Administration Expertly install, tune, and secure Linux distributions (Rocky, RHEL, Ubuntu), with kernel upgrades and repo/yum management. Deploy trading platforms and monitoring agents on custom-tuned Linux boxes. Support Windows Server environments and virtualisation stacks (VMware, Xen, Hyper-V). Networking & Security Manage deployment and optimisation of SFP/QSFP, Twinax, MM/SM cabling, and breakout patching. Oversee firewall rulesets, VLANs, routing policies, and endpoint protections. Work closely with trading teams to troubleshoot and minimise system/network latency. Procurement & Vendor Management Lead procurement of compute/network/storage infrastructure in alignment with trading needs. Maintain vendor relationships, warranties, and SLAs for all hardware/software systems. Audit & Compliance Conduct system-level audits, performance benchmarks, and capacity Ensure compliance with NSE/BSE regulatory requirements for co-located environments. Job Requirements 5+ years in IT infrastructure roles, including 3+ years in trading or mission-critical systems leadership. Mastery in Linux system administration with experience in: Kernel tuning and driver integration (e.g., Mellanox, SolarFlare, Exanic). Custom performance profiles, Yum/Repo configurations. Proven success managing full lifecycle deployments in co-location trading setups. Expertise in BIOS tuning, server hardware builds, and virtualisation platforms. Comfortable navigating NSE/BSE or similar institutional-grade environments. Strong team management, documentation, and technical troubleshooting abilities. Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications / Hardware Networking or equivalent.
