Job Description

Job Title: Investment ManagerDepartment: Investment / Finance / Asset ManagementReporting To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Managing DirectorJob Purpose:

To oversee and manage the company’s investment portfolio by identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities that align with the NBFC’s financial objectives. The role involves developing investment strategies, conducting financial analysis, ensuring compliance, and maximizing returns while managing risk.

Key Responsibilities:1. Investment Planning & Strategy

  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term investment strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends, economic data, and industry developments to identify investment opportunities.
  • Prepare financial models and projections to assess potential returns and risks.

2. Portfolio Management

  • Manage and monitor the company’s investment portfolio performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend adjustments to asset allocation, investment instruments, and fund distribution.
  • Ensure diversification to balance risk and return effectively.

3. Financial Analysis & Research

  • Conduct due diligence and valuation for potential investments, including debt instruments, equities, bonds, and structured finance products.
  • Prepare detailed investment proposals and present findings to management or the board.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, interest rate movements, and regulatory changes.

4. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate investment risks through proper analysis and monitoring.
  • Ensure all investment activities comply with RBI regulations, NBFC guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Work closely with the compliance and audit teams to maintain transparency and accountability.

5. Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare periodic reports on portfolio performance, returns, and financial forecasts.
  • Present investment performance updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners such as banks, financial advisors, and rating agencies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: MBA (Finance), CFA, CA, or equivalent qualification in Finance or Investment Management.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in investment, portfolio management, or financial analysis (preferably in NBFCs, banks, or asset management firms).
  • Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, capital markets, and RBI regulations.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and financial analysis tools.
