Role Overview – Investment Banking Intern (Founder’s Office)


Investment Banking Intern

IB, private markets, fundraising, startups, and building deep investor networks

In this role, you will work closely with the founder on client mandates, investor outreach, deal support, and strategic business initiatives—making it the perfect launchpad for a career in investment banking or private equity.


Key Responsibilities

Client & Deal Management

  • Assist in onboarding new clients—startups, growth companies, and founders seeking fundraising or strategic support.
  • Participate in client calls, deal discussions, and mandate review meetings.
  • Support clients through documentation requirements, investor readiness preparation, financial data collection, and compliance checklists.
  • Help prepare deal materials including

    IMs, financial overviews, pitch decks, and transaction notes

    .

Investor Coverage & Relationship Management

  • Maintain and leverage a strong network of

    investors, PE/VC funds, family offices, and strategic partners

    .
  • Assist in targeted investor outreach, introductions, and follow-ups for ongoing mandates.
  • Support the preparation of

    investor updates, deal teasers, and outreach pipelines

    .
  • Coordinate investor meetings and track interest levels, feedback, and next steps.

Internal Operations & Strategy

  • Work directly with the founder to track mandates, business activities, and pipeline progress.
  • Maintain dashboards, CRM systems, and deal trackers.
  • Support in preparing market research, comps, benchmarking, and other IB-related analysis.
  • Contribute to proposals, client pitches, and strategic planning.

Special & Strategic Projects

  • Participate in new service vertical launches, collaborations, or investor ecosystem partnerships.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend workflow improvements.
  • Assist in strategic research across private markets, valuation trends, sector analysis, and competitive landscapes.


Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional in

    Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business, or related fields

    .
  • Foundational understanding of

    investment banking, financial statements, valuation, and fundraising cycles

    .
  • Prior exposure (internship, coursework, or practical experience) to IB, VC/PE, corporate finance, or transactions is a strong plus.
  • Existing network

    of investors, VCs, PE funds, or ecosystem partners is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with CRM tools, Notion, or project management apps is a plus.
