About The Opportunity
Positioned in the tertiary-care hospital sector of India’s healthcare industry, this role serves critically ill adult patients in a high-acuity intensive care environment. We operate a multi-disciplinary ICU delivering evidence-based critical care, emergency response, and organ-support services—seeking a skilled Intensivist to lead bedside management, improve outcomes, and drive clinical excellence on-site.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care for adult ICU patients: lead daily rounds, develop individualized management plans, and make time-sensitive clinical decisions.
- Manage advanced life-support interventions including invasive ventilation (ARDS/ventilator strategies), hemodynamic optimization, renal replacement therapy coordination, and extracorporeal support where applicable.
- Perform and supervise invasive procedures—endotracheal intubation, central venous and arterial cannulation, chest tube placement and emergency airway management—ensuring procedural safety and documentation.
- Lead sepsis resuscitation, sedation/analgesia protocols, weaning strategies, and multi-organ failure management in collaboration with anaesthesia, nephrology, cardiology and surgical teams.
- Drive quality-improvement initiatives: develop ICU protocols, infection control measures, morbidity & mortality reviews, and participate in audit/clinical governance activities.
- Act as ICU on-call leader for emergency responses (code blue), supervise junior doctors and nurses, provide bedside teaching, and communicate clearly with families regarding prognosis and care plans.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must-Have
- MD/MBBS with postgraduate qualification in Critical Care (DM/DNB/IDCCM or equivalent) or Anaesthesia with significant ICU experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on ICU experience managing ventilated patients, shock, ARDS, and sepsis in a tertiary-care setting.
- Valid registration with National/State Medical Council (NMC) and up-to-date life-support certifications (ACLS/ATLS/BLS).
- Preferred
- Experience with bedside ultrasound (POCUS), ECMO programs, RRT coordination, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
- Prior leadership or consultant-level experience in a 20+ bed ICU, involvement in protocol development, clinical audits, or teaching roles.
