Location: Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Required: Minimum 4–5 years
Salary Range: ₹16,000 – ₹22,000 per month

1. Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following educational backgrounds:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), or Control & Instrumentation (C&I)
• B.Tech / B.E. in EE / EEE / C&I

Relevant industrial or plant-based instrumentation experience is mandatory.

2. Job Role & ResponsibilitiesA. Installation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Install, calibrate, and maintain field instruments: pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, control valves, level sensors, PLC I/O modules, etc.
• Troubleshoot instrument failures and ensure minimum breakdown time.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of instrumentation systems.

B. PLC / SCADA / DCS Operations

• Work with PLC-based control systems, SCADA interfaces, and DCS panels used in steel plant operations.
• Monitor system performance, alarms, and ensure smooth functioning of automation systems.
• Assist in logic modification, sequencing, and configuration changes when required.

C. Inspection, Testing & Calibration

• Conduct routine inspection and calibration of plant instruments as per standards.
• Maintain calibration records and documentation required for audits.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, safety, and operational standards.

D. Project Support & Upgradation

• Support new instrumentation projects, installations, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and technical teams during shutdowns and major overhauls.
• Suggest improvements to enhance system reliability and automation.

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare maintenance reports, calibration sheets, daily logs, and breakdown analysis.
• Maintain inventory of instrumentation spares and ensure availability.
• Report abnormalities, unsafe conditions, and ensure proper documentation.

F. Safety, Standards & Compliance

• Follow all industrial safety procedures during electrical/instrumentation work.
• Ensure proper isolation practices (LOTO), PPE usage, and plant safety guidelines.
• Comply with steel plant standards and instrumentation codes.

3. Key Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of field instrumentation and industrial automation
• Hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA/DCS systems
• Troubleshooting skills for sensors, transmitters, and control valves
• Understanding of electrical drawings, P&ID, loop diagrams
• Familiarity with calibration tools and maintenance procedures
• Good communication and team coordination
