Job Description

The Industry Immersion Fellowship at Volvo Group is a unique program that enables university faculty and post-doctoral researchers to gain hands-on industry experience by working full-time with our technical team at Volvogroup.

Project Objectives:

Analyze current warehouse and logistics operations to identify improvement areas.
Apply lean methodologies and process improvement tools to reduce inefficiencies.
Optimize warehouse layout and material flow for better productivity.
Improve dealer order patterns to align with demand planning and reduce logistics costs.
Design and pilot milk-run concepts to improve transportation efficiency.
Develop and recommend sustainable logistics solutions that support environmental goals.
Deliver regular reports and final recommendations for long-term implementation.

Expected Outcomes:

Improved supply chain efficiency and reduced logistics costs.
Practical recommendations for sustainable warehouse and transport practices.
Scalable solutions for inventory accuracy and order pattern management.
A detailed final report and presentation of findings to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Background:

Currently pursuing a PhD/ Ph.D Completed Research Scholars in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Strong analytical and research skills with ability to handle large data sets.
Knowledge of lean methodologies and process improvement techniques.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP, and logistics optimization tools.Interest in sustainable logistics practices.
