Job Description

As the Head of Human Resources at Alankaram, a design-first, premium teakwood furniture brand redefining Indian craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic, you will play a crucial role in leading the end-to-end Human Resources function. Your primary responsibility will be to align the HR strategy with business goals, enhance the workplace culture, and contribute to making Alankaram a Great Place to Work certified organization by December 2025. Your role will involve overseeing various aspects such as talent management, employee experience, statutory compliance, and industrial relations. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Strategic Leadership** - Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with business goals. - Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on people-related matters. - Track and report key HR metrics to drive data-informed decisions. - **Talent Management & Development** - Oversee recruitment strategy and ensure a strong talent pipeline. - Implement performance management cycles and career development programs. - Monitor training programs and support internal mobility and succession planning. - **Employee Experience & Engagement** - Drive initiatives to enhance the Employee Happiness Index. - Maintain workplace health, hygiene, and safety. - Design and execute engagement, wellness, and learning programs. - **Statutory Compliance & Policy Management** - Ensure 100% compliance with Indian labor laws. - Maintain updated HR policies and employee handbook. - Liaise with legal consultants for compliance-related risks. - **Industrial Relations (IR)** - Maintain healthy labor relations and resolve grievances. - Coordinate with production teams to address concerns. - Ensure statutory records are maintained as per regulations. **Qualifications & Experience:** - 15+ years of progressive HR experience. - Sound knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory norms. - Strong leadership and people management skills. - Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. - Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi. In this role, you will be instrumental in achieving key performance indicators related to talent acquisition, employee retention, compliance, performance management, engagement, industrial relations, HR operations efficiency, and team management. Your success will be measured by Alankaram's GPTW certification by December 2025, below industry benchmark attrition rate, compliant operations, high employee engagement metrics, and proactive communication in industrial relations.,
