Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The HR Operations & Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving digital transformation initiatives in payroll processes. This role requires expertise in payroll processing, HR operations, and experience in implementing or enhancing payroll digitalization.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management & Compliance

  • Process accurate and timely monthly payroll, including all statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, etc.) covering On Roll & contractual employees.
  • Prepare salary inputs, variable components, reimbursements, and final settlements.
  • Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain payroll records and prepare statutory returns and reports.

Payroll Digitalization & Process Improvement

  • Lead or support digitalization initiatives to automate and streamline payroll workflows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement or upgrade payroll systems/HCM platforms.
  • Drive system configuration, data migration, and testing for new digital payroll solutions.
  • Develop payroll dashboards, payroll metrics, self-service modules, and automated reporting tools to improve transparency and efficiency.
  • Manage the annual HR budget by analysing monthly variances, engaging stakeholders, and optimizing costperemployee to maximize utilization.
  • Conduct annual salary benchmarking and payequity audits using market data to maintain competitive compensation and close internal pay gaps.

HR Benefits Program Management:

  • Group Policies - Ensure prompt and errorfree additions and deletions from group medical insurance plans, maintaining high enrolment accuracy and fast processing times.
  • Track foodcard and flexibenefits utilization and measure employee satisfaction via benefits Net Promoter Score.

HR Operations & Employee Services

  • Manage HR operational processes, including onboarding, exit formalities, and HR records management.
  • Support employee queries related to payroll, taxation, and policies.
  • Prepare HR MIS reports and analytics as required by management.
  • Measure HROperations effectiveness using eNPS, payroll query response times, firstcontact resolution rates, and overall satisfaction survey scores

Audit & Risk Management

  • Ensure all payroll processes are audit-ready and compliant with internal controls.
  • Liaise with auditors for payroll audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Safeguard employee data confidentiality and maintain data integrity.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Postgraduate in HR, or related discipline.
  • Experience in payroll processing and HR operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in payroll digitalization, including implementation or enhancement of HCM/payroll systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Darwin box, HR One, ADP).
  • Proficiency in Excel, HR analytics, and automated payroll reporting.
