Role & responsibilities

Role Summary:

implement and manage the Performance Management System (PMS)

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Performance Management System (PMS)

  • Administer and manage the companys Performance Management System across retail operations.
  • Ensure timely goal-setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
  • Provide training and support to managers and employees on the PMS process and tools.
  • Analyze performance data to identify top performers, development needs, and succession pipelines.
  • Work closely with leadership to link performance outcomes with rewards and career progression.

2. Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with retail staff and act as a trusted HR partner.
  • Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters in a fair and timely manner.
  • Conduct engagement surveys and implement action plans to improve retention and morale.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, recognition, and continuous feedback.

3. HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee payroll coordination, attendance management, and HRIS data accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, Shops & Establishments Act, etc.).
  • Conduct periodic audits and ensure adherence to company policies and labor laws.

4. Learning & Development

  • Identify performance gaps through PMS outcomes and design relevant training interventions.
  • Partner with the L&D team to deliver skill enhancement and customer service programs for store teams.
  • Support leadership development initiatives for Store and Area Managers.

5. HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain dashboards on key HR metrics: attrition, performance distribution, engagement, and manpower status.
  • Present periodic reports to senior management with insights and improvement recommendations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in human resources or business administration.
  • Progressive HR experience in

    Retail Sectors

    .
  • Proven experience in managing and executing a

    Performance Management System (manual or digital platforms like SAP SuccessFactors, Darwinbox, or Oracle HCM)

    .
  • Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and HR compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on, field-oriented professional comfortable travelling across multiple locations.
