Position:Head- Total Quality Management

Location : Jamshedpur, Jharkhand

Position Overview

The Head – TQM will be the custodian of our quality journey, tasked with embedding a world-class TQM framework into our cement bag manufacturing operations. This role requires strategic vision, hands-on leadership, and the courage to make tough decisions.

Reporting directly to senior management, you will lead large teams, ensure zero-defect products, and make weekly presentations to our directors to showcase progress and improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and roll out a robust TQM strategy across cement bag operations.

• Ensure first-time-right production, minimizing rejections, customer claims, and wastage.

• Strengthen supplier quality management for raw materials like PP granules and masterbatches.

• Build cross-functional partnerships with production, maintenance, and sales to ensure end-to-end quality.

• Institutionalize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.

• Benchmark with global best practices, particularly from automotive and high-volume industries.

• Train and upskill the workforce, embedding quality ownership at every level.

• Present actionable weekly reports and improvement roadmaps to management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1. Reduction in Customer Complaints – Achieve significant decline in claims within 12 months.

2. Rejection Rate – Continuous reduction in factory rejections and rework.

3. First Pass Yield (FPY) – Year-on-year improvements.

4. Supplier Quality Index – Enhanced raw material quality and vendor reliability.

5. Audit Performance – Zero non-conformities in all internal/external audits.

6. Cost Savings – Tangible savings via lean and defect-prevention projects.

7. Consistency in Bag Quality – Measured by performance at client filling stations.

8. Training Hours Delivered – Capability-building across the workforce.

9. Management Communication – Structured, clear, and impactful weekly presentations.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Engineering graduate (Mechanical / Industrial / Polymer / Production).

• 12–15 years’ experience in quality leadership, preferably in Auto Parts, Packaging, or Tata Group companies.

• Certified in TQM / Lean / Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred).

• Strong leader with demonstrated ability to drive large teams.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with boardroom presence."
