Role Overview:
The Head of Printing & Packaging (Monocartons & Printed Articles) will be responsible for managing and ensuring premium quality printing, colour consistency, and finishing standards across all monocartons, leaflets, brochures, and other printed articles. This role requires strong expertise in colour management, print operations, and finishing supervision, ensuring timely deliveries and flawless execution.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Colour & Print Quality Control
• Ensure colour accuracy and consistency across all print jobs.
• Approve proofs, test runs, and press checks before bulk printing.
• Monitor for printing issues (shade variation, registration, dot gain, ink density, etc.).
• Maintain premium print quality as per client expectations.
2. Printing Operations Management
• Plan and schedule printing jobs for monocartons and printed articles.
• Supervise daily printing operations (offset/digital).
• Ensure optimum utilisation of machines and reduce wastage.
• Oversee special processes (lamination, UV, foiling, drip-off, etc.).
3. Prepress & File Handling
• Review and approve print-ready files from the design team.
• Ensure correct colour separations (CMYK / Spot / Pantone) before plate making.
• Coordinate with prepress team for error-free output.
4. Finishing & Conversion Supervision
• Oversee die-cutting, folding, pasting, and finishing processes.
• Ensure monocartons are delivered with perfect creasing, glue, and shape.
• Monitor and resolve finishing defects.
5. Material & Vendor Coordination
• Plan and monitor usage of inks, coatings, paper, and lamination films.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of printing consumables.
• Maintain lean stock while ensuring zero shortages.
6. Team Leadership
• Lead operators, helpers, and finishing staff.
• Train the team on quality standards and machine handling.
• Assign roles and maintain discipline in the printing unit.
7. Client & Sales Team Coordination
• Support client press approvals where required.
• Communicate with sales/design teams to ensure client expectations are met.
• Ensure jobs are delivered within committed deadlines.
8. Reporting & Accountability
• Maintain daily production and quality reports.
• Track wastage, delays, and client rejections with root-cause analysis.
• Report regularly to management with updates on job status.

Qualifications & Skills Required:
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in printing & packaging (monocartons/leaflets preferred).
• Strong knowledge of offset printing, colour management, and finishing techniques.
• Hands-on expertise with Pantone, CMYK calibration, and print troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead a production team with discipline and efficiency.
• Knowledge of printing consumables (paper, inks, coatings, films).
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and leadership skills.
