As the Head of M&A, you will play a crucial role in leading and expanding the Mergers & Acquisitions vertical. This leadership position entails full ownership of the M&A mandate lifecycle, from the initial origination to successful execution. The ideal candidate for this role will be an accomplished M&A leader with profound expertise in deal structuring, financial strategy, and managing cross-border transactions. Your responsibilities will include serving as a strategic advisor to clients and leading a high-performing M&A team. In the realm of Strategic Leadership & Origination, you will spearhead the origination and strategic direction of the M&A division. This will involve identifying target companies, assessing their fit, and providing guidance to clients on acquisition and divestment opportunities. Furthermore, you will be responsible for engaging with senior stakeholders such as Promoters, CXOs, and Boards, while also establishing robust relationships with private equity firms, global investors, and institutional partners to generate new mandates. In terms of Transaction Execution & Deal Structuring, your role will encompass overseeing the complete transaction lifecycle, including engagement, due diligence, valuation, negotiations, and regulatory compliance. You will be tasked with guiding financial modeling, conducting deal feasibility assessments, and drafting investment memos. Additionally, you will be required to structure deals across various industries, geographies, and capital structures, and lead negotiations and regulatory approvals in both domestic and cross-border settings. As part of Client Advisory & Coordination, you will act as a trusted senior advisor to clients, offering insights on complex strategic decisions. Your responsibilities will involve coordinating all client touchpoints, facilitating information gathering, and providing support during transactions. Moreover, you will offer sector-specific recommendations aligned with client growth strategies and represent the firm in investor relations, boardrooms, and industry events. Regarding Team Leadership & Development, you will be responsible for mentoring and leading a team comprising Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts. Your role will involve overseeing the preparation of client deliverables, such as financial models, investor decks, and pitch materials. Additionally, you will drive performance, foster collaboration, and cultivate a client-first culture within the M&A division. To qualify for this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 15 years of total experience, with a proven track record in end-to-end M&A deal execution. They should have extensive exposure to mid-to-large-sized transactions, preferably across multiple sectors, and prior experience in leading M&A teams while directly engaging with CXOs, Boards, and PE investors. Demonstrated expertise in cross-border/multi-jurisdictional dealmaking is essential. Education requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with an MBA, CFA, or equivalent post-graduate degree preferred. Desired skills and capabilities comprise advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation (DCF, LBO, comps), and transaction structuring, along with excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills. A deep understanding of global M&A markets, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks is crucial, as well as strong leadership, people management, and communication abilities. Industry exposure in Investment Banking with significant M&A execution experience is necessary, while familiarity with sectors like Infrastructure, Pharma, Real Estate, Energy, or Logistics is advantageous.
