Head of Merchandising

Role Overview: As a Merchandiser Head in the lab-grown diamonds industry, your role will involve developing and implementing merchandising strategies to enhance product assortment and achieve business objectives. You will lead the development of seasonal product assortments, conduct market analysis, and monitor store inventory levels to ensure timely restocking. Collaborating with retail operations to optimize product mix and display for maximum sell-through will also be a key responsibility. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement short-term and long-term merchandising strategies - Lead the development of seasonal product assortments aligned with market trends - Conduct market analysis and competitor benchmarking - Monitor store inventory levels and ensure timely restocking - Collaborate with retail operations to optimize product mix and display Product Development & Selection: - Collaborate with design, production, and sourcing teams - Lead the product selection process for new jewelry collections - Ensure a balanced mix of price points, styles, and materials Sales & Inventory Management: - Monitor product performance and sales data - Work closely with the supply chain team for optimal stock levels - Oversee planning and execution of promotional and discount strategies Team Leadership & Collaboration: - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of merchandising professionals - Collaborate with cross-functional teams for alignment of strategies Customer Insights & Trend Analysis: - Stay ahead of industry trends - Use customer insights and sales data to refine strategies Budget & Financial Management: - Manage the merchandising department's budget - Track and report on sales performance and KPIs Stock & Supply Planning: - Develop inventory management strategies - Plan and allocate stock based on performance and demand forecasts Data Analysis & Demand Forecasting: - Analyze sales data and market insights - Work closely with the buying team for sales projections In-Transit Stock Management: - Plan and track in-transit stock movement - Optimize logistics processes to prevent stockouts Collaboration & Process Improvement: - Work cross-functionally to streamline operations - Implement technology-driven solutions for better inventory management Vendor & Supplier Relations: - Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers - Negotiate contracts and delivery schedules Qualifications: - Experience: 8-12+ years in merchandising, with team management experience - Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field - Skills: Expertise in jewellery trends, leadership, communication, and analytical skills Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to luxury jewellery brands or high-end jewelry retail Note: Salary for this role is 30 LPA, which is best to industry standards for deserving candidates.
