Head of Merchandising

As a Head of Merchandising at the new venture in collaboration with a leading global footwear brand, your role involves devising merchandising strategy, managing stakeholders, fostering cross-functional collaboration, providing team leadership, and ensuring effective reporting and analytics. Your responsibilities include: - Devising merchandising strategy: - Develop merchandise strategy for all e-commerce channels, aligned with brand positioning and sales targets. - Optimise assortment strategy by analyzing product performance and consumer trends. - Managing stakeholders: - Build strong relationships with partner brand and key stakeholders such as design, sourcing, and pricing teams. - Partner with marketplaces to ensure visibility and conversion through marketing campaigns and strategic discussions. - Cross functional collaboration: - Manage the merchandising calendar to align with marketing campaigns and product launches. - Optimize marketplace site merchandising by developing appropriate product catalogues and imagery. - Team leadership: - Lead and mentor a high-performing merchandising team, setting clear KPIs and fostering a culture of ownership. - Reporting and analytics: - Track key performance metrics and make timely interventions on reorders, markdowns, and exits. - Develop MIS reports for management. Qualifications and Experience: - Graduates/ Postgraduates from NIFT/ premier fashion institutes or Tier 1 B-schools. - 12 to 15 years of experience in e-commerce fashion merchandising, preferably in the footwear category. - Proven track record in vendor/brand management with P&L responsibility. - In-depth knowledge of marketplace operations and platform merchandising. - Strong understanding of fashion and consumer behavior. - Experience in leading teams with a focus on people development. - Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Location: Bangalore, with travel as required. Reporting to: Chief Business Officer. Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
