Role Overview


Role Name:Head-Modern Trade

Reporting to: Chief Business Officer (CBO)


Job Overview

The Head – Modern Trade will lead the strategic and operational management of the Modern Trade channel for the company. This includes key account management, business development, category growth, and ensuring sustainable revenue growth from national and regional modern trade partners.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare the Modern Trade sales strategy & growth plans in line with business strategy.
  2. Key responsibility as the Head of Modern trade is to drive profitability and deliver on the Revenue and Share parameters.
  3. Align and execute trade marketing and trade promotions interventions with the modern trade sales strategy and overall business strategy.
  4. Lead resource for planning portfolio growth initiatives with accounts, assortment planning, launch planning and execution, development and execution of Joint Business Plans.
  5. Category management and Promotion planning.
  6. Driving operational efficiency for modern trade channel.
  7. Monitoring performance and taking corrective actions
  8. Responsible for achieving planned sales by channel and customer
  9. Achieving consistent growth by managing various internal and external stakeholders
  10. Work within allocated promotional cost and ensure effective spending in driving sales and brand building.
  11. Lead resource for planning and negotiating for in-store activations, merchandising, sell-out plans with the accounts
  12. Provide trade information, competitor's activities and market intelligent to company
  13. Manage Accounts receivables Work closely with Key Account Managers in achieving company's objective and vision.


Key Requirements

  1. Skillsets - Market intelligence, strong stakeholders/customer management skills, Leadership skills, Networking.
  2. Looking for 14-17 years of work experience preferably from the same industry (FMCG/Food)
  3. Education qualification – MBA Sales/Marketing and/or equivalent
  4. Experience into Modern Trade is preferred
