Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    The E&I Maintenance Head is responsible for leading the maintenance and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems across the plant, including key areas like Kiln & Cooler, Crusher and Raw Mill, Cement Mill, and AFR Section. This role involves developing and managing budgets, coordinating system implementations, and overseeing inventory and cost optimization. The E&I Maintenance Head ensures safety and regulatory compliance, drives strategic improvement projects, and fosters innovation to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Electrical & Instrumentation Systems Optimization: Lead the maintenance and optimization of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the plant, including Kiln & cooler, Crusher and Raw Mill, Cement Mill, and AFR Section. Ensure continuous improvement in system reliability, efficiency, and performance to minimize unplanned downtime and enhance operational effectiveness. Planning & Budgeting: Develop and manage the annual Capex and Opex budgets for the E&I Maintenance department, ensuring alignment with overall plant objectives. Oversee the planning and execution of both major and minor plant shutdowns, coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to minimize disruption and ensure timely completion. System Management & Implementation: Coordinate the effective implementation of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and other operational systems in Kiln, Coal Mill, and AFR sections to enhance productivity and promote a safe work environment. Monitor and evaluate the performance of these systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant operations. Inventory Management & Cost Optimization: Oversee inventory management to ensure the availability of critical spares while optimizing costs through efficient inventory planning and control. Implement strategies to reduce maintenance costs without compromising on quality or safety standards. Corporate Governance: Monitor adherence to corporate governance policies and procedures, ensuring that all operations and strategic decisions reflect the principles of integrity, accountability, and transparency. People Management & Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice replication within the E&I Maintenance department. Lead and motivate the team, focusing on skills development, succession planning, and creating a positive work environment that encourages creativity and high performance. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Compliance: Champion SHE initiatives within the department, ensuring full compliance with statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements. Lead efforts to achieve zero incidents by promoting safety-first behaviors and conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments. Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory standards, including the completion of annual electrical inspections and liaison with the Chief Electrical Inspector. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and ensure that all departmental activities comply with these standards. Strategic Improvement Projects: Lead and manage strategic improvement projects, including the installation of power/energy monitoring systems, fire alarm systems, and upgrades to critical plant systems such as the ABB control system and centralized command center for CCTV. Drive the successful completion of these projects within budget and time constraints, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term goals. Innovation & Technology Upgradation: Oversee the introduction and implementation of new technologies and systems, such as PLC upgrades, magnetic separators, and high-level controllers, to enhance plant efficiency and reliability. Ensure that all upgrades are seamlessly integrated with existing systems and that the team is trained to operate new technologies effectively. Qualifications and Experience


    Education Qualification: BE in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering. Work Experience: 15+ years in E&I maintenance management within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with extensive experience in system optimization and budget management. Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, with expertise in maintenance practices and regulatory compliance.
