Head Cashier

The Head Cashier is responsible for overseeing all cash counter operations, ensuring smooth billing transactions, maintaining cash accuracy, supervising cashiers, and delivering excellent customer service. This role requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and adherence to company policies and audit standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash & Billing Operations:

• Supervise and manage all cashiering activities at the billing counters.
• Ensure accurate billing, cash handling, and reconciliation of daily sales.
• Manage cash, card, UPI, gift voucher, and credit transactions efficiently.
• Ensure proper opening and closing of tills and verify cash deposits.
• Maintain records of petty cash, refunds, and discounts as per policy.

Team Management:

• Allocate duties and schedules for cashiers to ensure adequate counter coverage.
• Train and guide new cashiers on billing systems, customer handling, and SOPs.
• Monitor team performance and maintain discipline and punctuality.

Customer Service:

• Resolve billing-related customer queries and escalations professionally.
• Ensure fast and smooth checkout experience for customers.
• Support the sales team in achieving high customer satisfaction scores.

Audit & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to all cash management and security procedures.
• Support internal and external audits with proper documentation.
• Report discrepancies, shortfalls, or policy violations immediately to management.
