Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to spearhead our Solar Business Development initiatives at the AGM/DGM/GM level. This role requires a strategic thinker with in-depth industry knowledge, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our solar footprint across domestic and international markets, forging high-impact partnerships, and driving new revenue streams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in utility-scale, rooftop, and hybrid

    solar projects.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies for emerging solar technologies and business models (e.g., RESCO, CAPEX, OPEX).
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective projects across geographies.

Tendering & Bid Management

  • Lead end-to-end tendering activities for government, PSU, and private sector solar projects.
  • Analyze tender documents, eligibility criteria, and technical specifications to assess bid viability.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) to prepare competitive and compliant bid submissions.
  • Monitor tender portals and proactively track upcoming opportunities (SECI, NTPC, State DISCOMs Etc..)

Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute long-term business development strategies for solar energy solutions.
  • Identify and evaluate new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities.
  • Lead feasibility studies, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including government bodies, EPCs, IPPs, and large corporates.
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals, PPAs, and strategic alliances.
  • Represent the company at industry forums, exhibitions, and conferences.

  • Project Development & Commercial Structuring

    • Oversee end-to-end project development from concept to commissioning.
    • Collaborate with technical, legal, and financial teams to structure bankable solar projects.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across all business initiatives.
  • Leadership & Team Building

    • Lead and mentor a high-performing business development team.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors in engineering + MBA (preferred)

Experience: 2225 years in Renewable Energy, with at least 10+ years in Solar BD

Industry Knowledge

Deep understanding of solar technologies, policies, and market dynamics

Leadership & Strategy

Proven track record in leading BD teams and scaling solar businesses

Communication & Negotiation

Exceptional stakeholder management and deal-closing capabilities

Tech & Financial Acumen

Familiarity with solar project economics, financing models, and analytics
