Job Description – Guardicore Segmentation Run and Maintain SME Job Title: Guardicore Segmentation Run and Maintain SME Department: IT Security / Cybersecurity Operations Reports To: Security Operations Manager / Infrastructure Security Lead Role Purpose:- We are seeking an experienced Guardicore Segmentation Run and Maintain SME to manage the day-to-day operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of our microsegmentation platform. This role ensures that Guardicore segmentation policies are effective, systems remain compliant, and issues are quickly identified and resolved to minimize business disruption. Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and maintain the Guardicore Segmentation platform across on-premise and cloud environments. Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues, policy updates, and platform performance. Conduct regular system health checks to ensure stability, availability, and scalability of the platform. Analyze logs, alerts, and incidents to detect anomalies, violations, or performance issues. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to validate changes, update policies, and resolve conflicts. Maintain and update documentation including runbooks, escalation procedures, and known issue repositories. Provide audit and compliance support by generating segmentation reports and evidence as required. Adhere to and maintain operational SLAs for incident response, change management, and patching of Guardicore components. Proactively recommend improvements in processes, automation, and system optimization to enhance platform efficiency. Key Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in Guardicore (Akamai) Centra Segmentation platform – configuration, troubleshooting, and operations. Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, VLANs, DNS, VPN, etc.). Understanding of zero-trust security models and microsegmentation strategies. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments. Familiarity with SIEM tools, log analysis, and security monitoring frameworks. Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) for operational efficiencies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis). Excellent communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 5+ years of experience in IT security operations, with at least 2–3 years of direct Guardicore/Akamai microsegmentation experience. Experience in managing run-and-maintain operations in enterprise-scale environments. Certifications preferred: Guardicore Certified Specialist (if available) CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent security certifications.
