Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness, and integrity to our business.
OUR IMPACT
The Corporate Actions Specialist plays a pivotal role within the Loans Corporate Actions team, which supports the entire corporate action lifecycle for bank loans where the firm acts as a lender. This position is critical for the day-to-day execution of event processing, ensuring the timely submission of elections, and thereby supporting businesses, clients, and stakeholders on crucial loan corporate action events. The specialist will be responsible for the ongoing management of information related to loan portfolios, including amendment, waiver, and consent processing, credit agreement financial covenant tracking, and ballot/bankruptcy solicitation. This role demands a team-oriented professional with excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage competing tasks, and prioritize risk effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Team members are expected to consistently deliver on daily execution while also contributing to strategic organizational goals.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
- Corporate Action Event Processing: Support the day-to-day execution of diverse corporate action events impacting loan portfolios, ensuring timely submission of elections and accurate processing.
- Loan Portfolio Information Management: Manage ongoing information related to each loan or portfolio of loans, including processing amendments, waivers, and consents.
- Covenant Tracking & Solicitation: Track credit agreement financial covenants and manage ballot/bankruptcy solicitations.
- Information Sourcing & Dissemination: Source corporate action event information, disseminate it to impacted stakeholders, and submit desk decisions to the Agent/Company.
- Loan Product Lifecycle Understanding: Gain and apply a comprehensive understanding of the loan product lifecycle.
- Detailed Communication: Ensure all bespoke deal amendments are accurately communicated with both internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
- Bespoke Request Identification: Utilize an inquisitive mindset to identify and address bespoke requests from loan borrowers.
- Complex Restructure Decomposition: Leverage quantitative skills to decompose complex loan restructures and ensure bookings are completed within established timelines.
- Team & Organizational Growth: Contribute to team growth, develop a deeper understanding of complex transactions, and collaborate with business partners to progress organizational goals.
- Accountability & Ownership: Assume accountability and ownership of complex situations, offering expertise to influence outcomes.
- Risk Management Oversight: Partner with the regional management team to provide effective oversight of key Asset Servicing Functions.
- Client Service Delivery: Deliver consistent client service through effective partnerships with other internal teams and divisions.
- Issue Resolution: Deliver day-to-day issue resolution through effective time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking.
- Adaptability: Continually adapt to changes in the business, markets, and regulatory environment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop client service skills through daily interactions with colleagues across Operations, Finance, Legal, Credit, Sales & Trading, and Technology, and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks associated with amendments and waivers workflows.
Basic Qualifications
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Loan Servicing (Syndicated Loans) and a total experience of 4 – 7 years in a relevant financial services role.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Proven analytical skills, strong problem-solving ability, and a control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Aptitude for building relationships and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to a wide array of internal and external clients with differing levels of product experience.
- Self-Motivation & Organization: Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects, possesses strong organizational skills, and can effectively manage competing priorities.
- Adaptability: Flexible and able to work well under pressure within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial or quantitative educational background
- Understanding of Loan Operations & Regulatory reporting experience and/or experience in handling audits
