Job Title: General Manager – Employee Transportation

Experience Required: 15+ Years
Location: Kondapur from BHEL, Hyderabad
Reports To: Managing Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager – Employee Transportation to lead and manage end-to-end employee transport operations. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in large-scale transport operations, including fleet management, garage maintenance, route optimization, and staff supervision. This role demands strong leadership, operational efficiency, and a customer-centric mindset.

Key Responsibilities:Transport Operations:

  • Oversee daily transport operations ensuring punctual and safe employee commute services.
  • Plan and optimize transport routes to maximize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure timely deployment of vehicles during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Manage GPS tracking, trip logging, and real-time transport updates.

Garage & Fleet Maintenance:

  • Ensure regular servicing and upkeep of all vehicles in the garage.
  • Monitor preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules for minimum downtime.
  • Coordinate with vendors and garages for spare parts, repairs, and inspections.
  • Maintain proper records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, fuel consumption, and licensing.

Staff & Vendor Management:

  • Lead and manage transport staff including drivers, garage technicians, and transport supervisors.
  • Conduct training sessions on safety, customer service, and company transport protocols.
  • Handle disciplinary actions, attendance tracking, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee contracts and SLAs with external transport vendors, ensuring compliance and service quality.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce strict safety regulations and accident prevention measures.
  • Ensure vehicles are compliant with local RTO and statutory regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and government inspections.

Budgeting & Reporting:

  • Develop and monitor transport budgets, expenses, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare regular MIS reports on fleet performance, route efficiency, and incident logs.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising service quality.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Expertise in fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and route planning
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS), GPS, and Excel
  • Strong negotiation skills for vendor management
  • Knowledge of RTO regulations and transport compliance norms

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
  • Certifications in Transport Management or Fleet Operations (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
