Position Overview

The International English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality English Language and Literature instruction aligned with the Cambridge International framework. The educator will inspire a love for the language, develop strong literacy skills, and cultivate analytical and expressive abilities among learners. This role demands an innovative, empathetic, and globally minded professional eager to contribute to a growing academic community.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum framework.
  • Develop creative unit plans and instructional resources that encourage inquiry, interpretation, and expression.
  • Integrate diverse literary texts and global themes to build students’ cultural awareness and appreciation for language.
  • Employ a range of instructional methods — including collaborative learning, project work, and digital tools — to enhance classroom engagement.

Assessment & Progress Monitoring

  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments as per Cambridge standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of student achievement and provide individualized feedback.
  • Prepare students for internal evaluations and Cambridge examinations, ensuring conceptual clarity and skill readiness.
  • Use assessment outcomes to adapt teaching strategies and support differentiated learning needs.

Student Development

  • Encourage students to express ideas confidently in both written and spoken English.
  • Support language enrichment through reading clubs, creative writing sessions, or co-curricular literary events.
  • Foster critical and creative thinking while nurturing empathy, respect, and collaboration among learners.

Collaboration & Contribution

  • Work collaboratively with the academic team to maintain consistency in teaching practices and curriculum implementation.
  • Contribute to the school’s academic development initiatives, literary programs, and professional learning communities.
  • Participate actively in school events, assemblies, and community engagement programs.

Professional Growth

  • Engage in professional development sessions, Cambridge training, and reflective teaching practices.
  • Stay updated with global educational trends, literature, and pedagogical innovations in English teaching.
  • Share best practices with peers and mentor junior educators when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably within a Cambridge or international curriculum school.
  • Exceptional command of English (spoken and written); native or near-native fluency preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Cambridge assessment methodology and learner profile expectations.
  • Proven ability to design engaging lessons and employ differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and blended learning tools.
