Job Title: Food Controller

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Food & Beverage / Operations

Job Summary:

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Food Controller to manage and oversee food cost, inventory, and ordering processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food cost management, inventory control, and reporting, ensuring that the food operations run efficiently and profitably while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Inventory Management: Oversee daily inventory levels for food supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and analyze food costs, track purchases, and implement strategies to reduce waste and increase profitability.
  • Ordering & Procurement: Coordinate with suppliers and manage food orders to ensure timely delivery while adhering to budget limits.
  • Menu Analysis: Assist with menu planning and costing, ensuring pricing strategies align with cost of goods and profit margins.
  • Waste Management: Develop and implement waste reduction strategies to ensure efficient use of food products and minimize losses.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, proper handling, and storage of food products.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on food costs, inventory status, and other relevant metrics for management review.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen, purchasing, and accounting teams to streamline food-related operations.
  • Training: Train staff on proper food handling, inventory management practices, and cost control procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a food control or inventory management role, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of food cost control and inventory management.
  • Proficient in food costing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as per operational needs.
