Job Description

To manage financial and accounting tasks for the travel company, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping, vendor reconciliation, client invoicing and payments, and compliance with financial policies and regulations. The role supports smooth financial operations, helping the company maintain profitability and financial control.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Ledger Maintenance

  • Maintain and update daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments).
  • Post entries into accounting software / ledgers.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all records.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients.
  • Follow up on unpaid invoices and ensure timely collection.
  • Manage vendor invoices, process payments, and ensure vendors are paid on time.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting
  • Bank reconciliation on a regular basis.
  • Reconcile travel-related liabilities (e.g. advance payments, refund obligations).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Travel-specific Financial Tasks
  • Handle accounting for tours, bookings, cancellations, refunds etc.
  • Monitor commission receivables / payables to/from hotels, airlines, tour operators.
  • Assist in pricing, costing of tour packages ensuring all financial aspects are considered.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Assistance
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts for revenue, expenses.
  • Monitor variances between actual and budgeted numbers and report to management.
  • Compliance & Audits
  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements: GST, TDS, etc.
  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Communication & Coordination
  • Liaise with other teams (sales, operations) to ensure all financial data needed is accurate.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, agents, banks for payment/invoice related matters.
  • Address client queries related to billing or refunds.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance.
  • Experience: 1–3 years (or more) in accounts / bookkeeping; travel agency experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with travel industry back-end systems (optional).
  • Proficient with accounting software.
  • Good Excel skills (spreadsheets, pivot tables, data reconciliation).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
