Job Description

Job Title Fashion Designer Intern (Ethnic & Casual Wear) Location Kazhakoottam, Trivandrum, Kerala (on-site, full-time) About the Role As Weavaa’s first in-house Fashion Designer, you will own the concept-to-collection journey for our men’s and women’s ethnic and casual lines. You’ll translate market insights and brand vision into original designs that balance Kerala’s cultural aesthetics with contemporary trends, guiding each style from sketch to store launch. Key ResponsibilitiesAreaWhat You’ll Do Research & Ideation Track seasonal trends, fabric innovations, and customer insights Develop mood boards, color stories, and design themes for quarterly capsules Design Development Create hand/ digital sketches, tech packs, and 3D mock-ups in Clo3D / Adobe CC Select fabrics, trims, prints, and surface embellishments aligned to cost targetsSampling & Fit Work closely with pattern-making and sampling units to translate concepts into prototypes Lead fit sessions; iterate patterns for optimum comfort and style Product Lifecycle Management Upload tech data into PLM, ensuring BOM accuracy and on-time approvals Coordinate with sourcing and production to hit timelines and quality benchmarksBrand Storytelling Partner with marketing on photoshoot styling, look-books, and launch narratives Support visual merchandising guidelines for the studio boutique and e-commerce Sustainability & Compliance Champion eco-friendly materials, waste-minimizing layouts, and ethical production standardsMust-Have Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design/ Textile Design or equivalent 0 years’ experience designing ethnic, fusion, or contemporary casual apparel Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and at least one 3D design/CAD tool (Clo3D, Optitex, Browzwear, etc.) Strong knowledge of Indian fabrics, prints, and surface-craft techniques Proven track record from concept through bulk production (portfolio required)Preferred Skills Familiarity with lean or small-batch manufacturing workflows Experience designing both mens wear and womens wear Understanding of sustainable sourcing and circular design principles Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities Ability to thrive in an agile startup environment and manage multiple deadlines What We Offer Creative freedom to experiment and set design direction Access to a fully equipped design lab and 1,000 sq ft in-house production facility Competitive performance bonuses Clear career path toward Junior Designer roles as we scale Relocation assistance for out-of-state candidates Reporting Line Reports to: Senior Designer & Head of Design Collaborates with: Merchandising, Sourcing, Production, E-commerce & Marketing Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹1.00 per month Supplemental Pay: Overtime pay Work Location: In person Expected Start Date: 15/06/2025
