Job Description

Position Summary:

Fashion Buyer

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and procure fashion merchandise in accordance with seasonal trends, brand positioning, and customer preferences.
Analyze market data, sales reports, and trend forecasts to inform buying decisions.
Plan seasonal buying budgets and assortments in collaboration with merchandising and planning teams.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring favorable pricing, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Negotiate terms of purchase including cost, payment conditions, and return policies.
Monitor inventory levels and product performance; initiate reorders, markdowns, or promotional strategies as necessary.
Coordinate with design, marketing, and visual merchandising teams to ensure consistent product presentation and brand messaging.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and fashion weeks to stay informed on trends and sourcing opportunities.
Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, stock status, and forecasted trends to senior management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in a buying or merchandising role within the fashion industry.
Strong knowledge of fashion trends, retail cycles, and consumer demand.
Proven experience in vendor negotiation, product selection, and category performance analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory or ERP systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
