Job Description

The Factory/Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing operations related to railway electrification and transmission line components (e.g., brackets, clamps, fittings). The role involves managing production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and manpower to ensure efficient operations, timely delivery, and compliance with Indian Railways standards (RDSO, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

● Oversee day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure safety, productivity, and efficiency.

● Plan and execute production schedules to meet customer and RDSO delivery timelines.

● Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO 14000, ISO 9001, RDSO specifications) across all production stages.

● Coordinate with the design, procurement, and planning departments to streamline operations.

● Monitor machine utilization, downtime, and preventive maintenance activities.

● Ensure optimum resource allocation – manpower, machines, and materials.

● Lead and manage teams in production, quality, maintenance, logistics, and safety.

● Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety norms, and environmental regulations.

● Manage inventory and reduce material wastage and rework.

● Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure zero-defect supply to Indian Railways and other clients.

● Liaise with railway officials and clients for factory inspections, audits, and approvals.

● Develop, train, and motivate the workforce to improve skills and productivity.

Qualifications: Educational:

Professional certificate in Production Management and Quality control.

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)

Postgraduate, Graduate or diploma in Electrical Engineering / Industrial Engineering/Metallurgist/ITI (preferred)

Experience:

● Prior experience in railway electrification products or transmission line hardware manufacturing is highly preferred.

● Hands-on experience with fabrication, casting, forging, and machining processes.

● Minimum 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Key Skills:

● Strong leadership and people management skills

● Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and plant operations

● Knowledge of Indian Railways procurement and approval processes

● Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability

● Excellent communication and coordination skills

● Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and production planning tools
