Why This Role

LedBy has reached a critical inflection point. Having proven the power of our model, we are now seeking a visionary, entrepreneurial Executive Director who can expand our impact, grow our partnerships, and strengthen our long-term sustainability.

The Executive Director will serve as the organization’s external face and internal anchor, responsible for fundraising, amplifying LedBy's voice across sectors, and ensuring operational excellence. This is a rare opportunity to take a high-credibility, high-visibility organization to its next chapter of growth.


Key Responsibilities

I. Fundraising, Partnerships & External Relations (40%)

● Lead all fundraising efforts across philanthropic foundations, CSR, UHNWIs, bilateral, and multilateral funders.

● Develop and nurture strategic relationships with existing and new donors, ensuring long-term engagement and renewal.

● Build high-quality external partnerships with corporations, policy bodies, think tanks, media, and academic institutions.

● Build and implement a diversified fundraising portfolio to secure a minimum INR 5-7 Cr annually over the next 3 years.

● Represent LedBy at high-stakes convenings, industry forums, and policy roundtables.


II. Vision & Strategic Leadership (20%)

● Represent LedBy in national and international conversations around gender equity, diversity, leadership, and employment.

● Continuously assess and sharpen organizational priorities in response to sectoral shifts and emerging opportunities.

● Partner with the Board to set multi-year growth trajectories and proactively manage risks and opportunities.

● Work closely with the Founder to co-create and refine LedBy’s long-term strategic vision and translate it into actionable, measurable organizational plans.


III. Thought Leadership & Advocacy (20%)

● Establish LedBy as a thought leader on inclusive leadership, intersectional gender equity, and marginalized workforce inclusion.

● Publish and/or oversee white papers, op-eds, and research-informed insights.

● Amplify LedBy’s presence through media engagements, keynote addresses, and expert panels.


IV. Organizational Leadership & Operations Oversight (20%)

● Provide oversight to program execution, compliance, finance, HR, and team leadership, ensuring operational health.

● Build and coach a high-performing leadership team with clear accountability frameworks.

● Foster a mission-driven, values-based, and inclusive organizational culture.

● Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting frameworks.


Ideal Candidate Profile

● 15+ years of total experience, with at least 5-7 years in senior leadership roles.

● Strong fundraising and external engagement experience, with proven ability to raise 8-figure INR grants or equivalent.

● Deep experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, policy advocacy, or social impact sectors.

● Excellent public speaking, media presence, and storytelling capability.

● Highly networked across funders, CSR, philanthropic, and ecosystem partners.

● Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and managing operational complexity.

● Strong financial and strategic management acumen.

● Commitment to intersectional gender equity and social justice.

● Prior experience working with marginalized or underrepresented communities is preferred.
