JOB TITLE – Accounts Executive / Accountant (TDS & GST Specialist)

Position Overview

The Accounts Executive handles daily accounting operations, ensures compliance with TDS and GST regulations, and supports financial reporting activities. The role demands precision, strong technical skills, and the ability to meet strict compliance deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

· Record daily accounting entries in Tally/ERP/SAP or similar platforms.

· Manage accounts payable and receivable.

· Prepare bank reconciliation statements.

· Maintain ledgers, journals, cash books, and financial records.

· Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

2. GST Compliance

· Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).

· Reconcile GST purchase and sales data.

· Manage ITC reconciliation from the GST portal.

· Handle GST notices, assessments, and queries.

· Implement updates to GST rules and compliance requirements.

3. TDS Compliance

· Calculate TDS liabilities according to applicable sections.

· Prepare and file TDS returns (Form 24Q, Form 26Q).

· Generate and issue TDS certificates (Form 16/16A).

· Reconcile Form 26AS with internal books.

· Manage TDS payments and monitor due dates.

4. Financial Reporting

· Assist with preparation of balance sheets, P&L statements, and MIS reports.

· Support internal and statutory audits.

· Deliver monthly financial summaries to management.

5. Additional Responsibilities

· Coordinate with banks, clients, and vendors.

· Maintain compliance documentation and records.

· Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· B. Com / M. Com / MBA Finance or equivalent degree.

· Strong knowledge of Tally, Excel, GST portal, and TDS portal.

· Good understanding of accounting standards.

· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and compliance schedules.

· Strong communication and documentation skills.

Experience Level

· 0–1 year: Accounts Assistant

· 1–3 years: Accounts Executive

· 3+ years: Senior Accountant / Taxation Executive

· Accounting Accuracy

Error rate in entries: 0–1%

Bank reconciliation completion: within the first week of each month

· TDS Compliance

On-time TDS filing rate: 100%

Variance between books and Form 26AS: under 2%

· GST Compliance

On-time GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B submissions: 100%

ITC mismatch ratio: under 3%

GST notice resolution time: within 10 working days

· Reporting Efficiency

MIS report delivery: by the 5th of every month

Report error rate: 0–1%

· Operational Responsiveness

Average response time to clients/vendors: 24–48 hours

Audit documentation readiness: within audit timelines
