Role Overview:

ETL Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using
IBM Datastage
.
Work closely with business analysts, architects, and data modelers to understand business requirements and convert them into scalable ETL solutions.
Develop complex
SQL queries
,
stored procedures
, and performance-optimized scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Conduct
data quality checks
, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of Datastage jobs and SQL queries.
Support
data migration
,
batch processing
, and
real-time integration
projects.
Document
technical specifications
, mappings, workflows, and operational processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality data delivery in compliance with enterprise standards.
Provide
production support
, including monitoring, debugging, and resolving ETL/data-related issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

4+ years of hands-on experience in
ETL development
using
IBM Datastage
.
Strong expertise in
SQL
,
PL/SQL
, and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or similar).
Experience with
ETL performance tuning
, optimization, and error handling.
Knowledge of
data warehousing concepts
,
star/snowflake schemas
, and
data modeling basics
.
Strong understanding of
job scheduling tools
(e.g., Control-M, Autosys, or equivalent).
Good knowledge of
Unix/Linux shell scripting
for automation and integration.
Excellent
problem-solving
skills with the ability to debug and resolve complex data issues.
Strong
communication
and
collaboration
skills.

Good to Have:

Experience in
cloud-based ETL solutions
(AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow).
Familiarity with
Big Data platforms
(Hadoop, Spark) is an added advantage.
Exposure to
Agile/Scrum methodologies
.
