The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOMs, and techno-commercial proposals for electrical panels and automation projects. The candidate must have strong expertise in E-Plan to read, design, and extract data from electrical schematics. This is a hybrid role requiring both estimation and design skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesEstimation Responsibilities

• Study tender documents, drawings, SLDs, BOQs, and specifications to understand project scope.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, and overheads.
• Extract BOMs from E-Plan drawings and verify material quantities.
• Coordinate with suppliers to get pricing for switchgear, PLCs, VFDs, cables, and other components.
• Prepare techno-commercial offers, compliance sheets, and technical clarifications.
• Work with Sales/Projects/Design teams to ensure proposals meet customer requirements.
• Optimize material selection to improve competitiveness without compromising quality.
• Maintain updated vendor pricing, costing sheets, and proposal templates.

Design Responsibilities

• Create/modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using E-Plan Electric P8.
• Update designs based on customer feedback or project needs.
• Generate GA drawings, cable lists, and engineering documents.
• Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards (IEC/IS/NEC).
• Provide technical support to production and project teams during execution.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years experience in estimation, costing, or electrical panel design.
• Strong working experience with E-Plan Electric (mandatory).
• Knowledge of electrical panels, LV switchgear, automation components, PLC/SCADA basics, etc.

Skills Required

• Proficiency in E-Plan, MS Excel, and basic AutoCAD (optional).
• Strong analytical skills for estimation and BOM preparation.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and SLDs accurately.
• Good communication and coordination skills with clients and vendors.
• High attention to detail and time management skills.
