Job Purpose

To carry out site execution, erection, testing, and commissioning activities for mechanical systems/equipment in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Ensure smooth handover and successful operational readiness of the installed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Site Work
• Execute mechanical erection and commissioning activities as per engineering drawings, method statements, and project plan.
• Supervise fabrication, alignment, installation, testing, and trial runs of equipment such as pumps, compressors, pipelines, vessels, heat exchangers, etc.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and site labor for timely completion of works.
• Technical Support & Coordination
• Interpret engineering drawings, P&ID, layout plans, and equipment manuals.
• Interact with design & planning teams to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and inspectors for approvals and site progress.
• Quality & Safety Compliance
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, site safety norms, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct quality checks, inspection activities, and ensure compliance with QAP, ITP & project specifications.
• Maintain site documentation including test records, commissioning reports, and handover documents.
• Testing & Commissioning
• Prepare and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures.
• Conduct operational checks, load trials, performance testing, and ensure stable operation.
• Troubleshoot issues during start-up and provide resolutions.

Skills & Competencies Required

• Good knowledge of erection methodologies and commissioning practices in mechanical systems.
• Understanding of rotating and static equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings (GA, P&ID, Isometrics).
• Strong site supervision and coordination skills.
• Basic understanding of project and site safety standards.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently.

Software / Tools Knowledge

• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• AutoCAD (Preferred)
• Knowledge of project planning tools (desirable)
