Engineering Manager

Job Description

• We are looking for an experienced engineering manager- with a proven track record of delivering complex internet products at scale- to lead the product engineering team at Hoi, and own end-to-end development, quality and performance of the Hoi app across all touchpoints (Android, iOS, Web, Tablet).

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of the Hoi app, including:
• Development and release
• Quality
• Performance
• Maintenance and support
• Ensure parity of the app across all touchpoints- Android, iOS, Web, Tablet
• Be responsible for the design and architecture of the Hoi app
• Set up and drive the right engineering practices and processes for the team, including:
• Coding guidelines and best practices
• Code review process
• DevOps process(including deployment pipelines)
• Work with the product manager to create a product roadmap, and convert the same to a development plan
• Drive and track the development plan using required tools (JIRA, Monday.com etc)
• Ensure the right analytics setup for the Hoi app
• Own all datastores and data pipelines required for the Hoi app
• Establish a culture of quality within the team

Key requirements:

• Expert level hand-on knowledge of the technologies used for the app:
• Backend: Programming languages (Python), e-commerce platforms
• Frontend: JS frameworks- Angular, React, Vue.
• Mobile development: React Native, Flutter, Kotlin, Swift
• Expertise on both relational and non-relational (NoSQL) databases
• Strong understanding of software development practices- Agile, Test-driven development
• Proven expertise on designing software applications from the ground-up, including data modelling and API design.
• Strong communication skills for managing upward & sideward communication.

Other requirements

Qualification:

• BE/B. Tech./ME/M.Tech./MCA from a recognized institute.

Experience:

• Atleast7 years of experience in product development, in (across) tech-first, scaled (Series B+ investment)
• Has a proven and demonstrable track record of shipping quality software releases
• Has experience of having been a gun Tech/Team Lead or has been an Engineering Manager for 1+ years
• Has experience of managing teams >= 10 team members, with at least 3 SDE3 level engineer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹2,000,000.00 - ₹3,500,000.00 per year
