Engineering Manager

Role Description

We’re looking for an experienced and visionary Engineering Manager to join our fully remote team. In this leadership role, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers spanning software development, automation, data science, and web application development. You will be responsible for driving successful project execution from ideation to launch while ensuring technical excellence and on-time delivery. This is a full-time, salaried role that reports directly to senior leadership.

Salary Range

USD 700/month – USD 1,500/month

Paid in Employee's Local Currency

Depending on experience and qualifications

Working Hours

48 Hours per Week

Monday–Saturday, 8 AM – 5 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a remote engineering team across various disciplines.

• Plan and oversee full software development lifecycles from concept through deployment.

• Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to align project goals and ensure timely delivery.

• Ensure high standards of engineering quality, testing, and documentation.

• Guide team through technical architecture decisions and maintain system scalability.

• Evaluate team performance, facilitate growth, and recruit top-tier engineering talent.

Required Skills

• Proven track record in launching and managing successful software projects.

• Deep experience in planning and executing complex product development lifecycles.

• Proficiency in:

• NextJS, JavaScript, Python

• SQL, database design and engineering

• Serverless infrastructure (e.g., Cloudflare Workers or similar)

• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate across departments.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Experience working in a fully remote environment with distributed teams.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work partially to fully, as needed, on Pacific Standard Time

• Fluent in English

• Access to a Windows or Mac computer and a webcam for video meetings

• Installation of VPN software on the computer profile used for work

• Signing a non-disclosure agreement

• Employment verification with previous employers

• Successful completion of role-related aptitude and/or skills assessments

• Passing a comprehensive background check

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 5–8 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role

• Exclusive Employment: Candidates must formally resign from any previous or current roles prior to commencing employment with MOR Financial; dual employment is not permitted. Proof of resignation (such as a resignation letter) may be requested as part of the onboarding process.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing data science or automation-based projects

• Background in fintech, lending, or real estate technology platforms

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub
