Engineer / Senior Engineer Design - Heat Exchangers - Chennai

Job Overview

The Engineer / Senior Engineer � Design will be responsible for leading the design and development of heat exchangers and related thermal systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in thermal and mechanical design, proficiency in CAD and simulation tools, and a deep understanding of international standards. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring innovative, cost-effective, and compliant design solutions from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Heat Exchanger Design: Lead end-to-end design of shell-and-tube, air-cooled, plate, and finned heat exchangers.
  • Technical Expertise: Perform advanced thermal/mechanical calculations, CFD/FEA simulations, and ensure compliance with ASME, TEMA, API standards.
  • Quality and Compliance: Conduct design reviews, validation processes, and ensure manufacturability and safety across industries (oil & gas, chemical, power, heavy industries).
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare design calculations, technical reports, specifications, and maintain ERP-based revision control.
  • Client and Project Management: Collaborate with clients, sales, and project teams to deliver customized solutions, troubleshoot field issues, and support execution.

Skills & Attributes

  • Education: B.E. Mechanical / B.Tech Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3 to 7
  • years in heat exchanger design or related engineering fields.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), FEA/CFD tools, and thermodynamics/heat transfer engineering tools.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with ASME, TEMA, API standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Attributes: Analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, client-focused communication, and team collaboration skills.
