Position- Embedded System Engineer

Job Location- Mohali (Punjab)

Qualifications & Experience


Walnut Medical, already known for its expertise in medical device robotics and payment systems, is

aggressively expanding its presence in the automotive sector. The company has developed an advanced

automotive smart instrument cluster targeted at automobile OEMs. As part of its strategic growth, Walnut

Medical is transitioning into a multi-vertical technology product company, with a strong focus on scaling its

automotive electronics vertical.


Role & responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microcontroller programming, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and hardware-software integration.

Key Responsibilities

·      Design and develop embedded software for microcontrollers and processors.

·      Develop and implement real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux solutions.

·      Integrate software with hardware components, including sensors, actuators, and communication modules.

·      Optimize code for performance, power consumption, and reliability.

·      Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to ensure robust and reliable operation.

·      Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define system architecture and specifications.

·      Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and debugging tools.

·      Interpret and analyze hardware schematics and PCB layouts for debugging and system integration.

·      Maintain documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.

·      Experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR, etc.).

·      Strong understanding of embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.).

·      Hands-on experience with embedded development tools, debuggers, and simulators.

·      Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and multitasking concepts.

·      Experience in reading and interpreting circuit schematics and PCB layouts

Skills Required:

·        Algorithm development and testing for embedded systems.

·        Wireless protocols: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, Zigbee.

·        Embedded C/C++ with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ESP32, ARM Cortex).

·        Experience with Keil IDE, Git, and debugging tools (JTAG, logic analysers).

·        Basic RTOS knowledge (e.g., FreeRTOS) and embedded design best practices.

·        MATLAB/Simulink for control system modelling and simulation.
