Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Semiconductor Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in semiconductor technology and will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing semiconductor devices and processes used in electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy applications. As a Semiconductor Engineer at DIYguru, you will play a key role in creating educational content and providing hands-on training to students and professionals in this cutting-edge field. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about semiconductors, education, and sustainable technology. Key Responsibilities Design and Develop Semiconductor Devices: Work on the design and development of semiconductor devices used in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and smart grids. Focus on optimizing performance, efficiency, and reliability. Create Educational Content: Develop comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, and lab exercises, on semiconductor technology and its applications in EVs and other sustainable technologies. Ensure all content is up-to-date and aligned with current industry standards. Conduct Hands-On Workshops and Training Sessions: Lead practical workshops and training sessions that provide hands-on experience in semiconductor device fabrication, testing, and characterization. Teach students the fundamentals of semiconductor physics and device engineering. Develop and Optimize Fabrication Processes: Design and optimize semiconductor fabrication processes to improve device performance and yield. Ensure all processes are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards. Collaborate with Curriculum Developers and Educators: Work closely with curriculum developers and educators to integrate semiconductor technology into DIYguru’s educational programs. Provide technical expertise and support to enhance course content. Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in semiconductor technology, including new materials, devices, and fabrication techniques. Incorporate these advancements into training materials and educational programs. Engage with Industry Partners: Collaborate with industry partners, research institutions, and subject matter experts to ensure DIYguru’s semiconductor training programs are relevant and aligned with industry needs. Gather feedback and integrate it into course content. Perform Device Testing and Analysis: Conduct detailed testing and analysis of semiconductor devices to evaluate performance characteristics. Use data to inform device design and process optimization. Support Research and Development Initiatives: Participate in research and development initiatives focused on semiconductor technologies for electric mobility and renewable energy. Contribute to the development of new devices, materials, and processes. Document Technical Processes and Procedures: Create and maintain detailed documentation of semiconductor device design, fabrication processes, testing procedures, and training modules. Ensure all documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to students and educators. Requirements A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field. A master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in semiconductor engineering, device design, or fabrication, preferably within the automotive, energy, or electronics sectors. Strong technical knowledge of semiconductor devices, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, power diodes, and integrated circuits. Experience in semiconductor fabrication processes, including lithography, etching, doping, and deposition. Proficiency in using simulation tools such as SPICE, TCAD, or similar for device modeling and analysis. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate and develop new semiconductor technologies. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a diverse audience. Experience in creating educational materials and delivering technical training on semiconductor topics. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Passion for education, technology, and the advancement of semiconductor engineering. Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced educational environment. Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
