Whats in it for you We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Distinguished Engineer with expertise in Java and Post-Trade technologies to join our dynamic team. In this senior-level role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and advancing our technical landscape, specifically focusing on post-trade systems. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in delivering innovative solutions within the financial industry. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team based out of Gurgaon and to work with colleagues across multiple regions globally. Responsibilities: General: Develop architectures and systems iteratively that stand the test of time. Serve as a point of escalation for teams dealing with highly complex technical challenges. Achieve measurable impact across various teams within the company. Expand influence across a wide spectrum. Architecture and Design: Lead the design and architecture of sophisticated post-trade solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal performance. Collaborate with fellow architects and engineers to formulate cohesive and efficient technical solutions. Drive the adoption of best practices and industry standards. Technical Implementation: Identify challenges and technical interdependencies, proposing effective solutions. Apply quantitative analysis to influence key business decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide technical decisions aligned with business objectives. Provide strategic technical leadership for the development and enhancement of Java-based post-trade systems. Possess in-depth knowledge of distributed and event-driven design principles, along with cloud technologies. Innovation and Technology Advancement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to post-trade processes. Lead research and development initiatives to introduce and integrate innovative solutions. Evaluate and recommend new technologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of post-trade systems. Collaboration and Communication: Evangelize the successful adoption and use of tools and technologies. Lead discussions to promote collaboration across teams. Attend/Present at relevant events (e.g., conferences, user groups, meetups, webinars). Contribute written content about technology (e.g., blog posts, white papers). Develop and/or consult on internal training programs. Embody the Osttra values and exhibit humility in interactions with individuals. Work closely with product managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with post-trade business requirements. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Foster collaboration and establish positive working relationships with internal and external partners. Leadership: Play a central role in decision-making for technical issues. Teach, mentor, grow, and advise other domain experts, individual contributors, and teams within the organization. Establish technology and organizational bridges to key organizational partners. What Were Looking For: If you are a seasoned Distinguished Engineer with a focus on Java and a strong background in post-trade technologies, we invite you to apply and contribute to the advancement of our technical capabilities in this critical domain. Education and Experience: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 8-10 Years of experience in engineering related hands-on role. Technical Skills: Expertise in Java programming language and associated frameworks. In-depth knowledge of post-trade processes and technologies. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong decision-making and strategic thinking abilities. Financial Industry Expertise: Previous experience working on post-trade systems within the financial sector is highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
