Director of Business Operations – India

Key Responsibilities

People & Culture

• Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to build top engineering and operations teams.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams in India.
• Build a collaborative, performance-driven culture with a focus on employee engagement.

Operational Excellence & Workflow Automation

• Act as Head of India Office with end-to-end responsibility for operational delivery.
• Establish scalable office systems, processes, and infrastructure.
• Lead workflow automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
• Track and report operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Strategic Execution & Client Engagement

• Partner with US leadership to execute strategic initiatives and support service delivery.
• Represent India operations in client-facing discussions.
• Align India operations with US Centers of Excellence and global processes.

Financial & Resource Management

• Work with leadership on site operating budgets and financial tracking.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, automation, and process improvement.

Required Qualifications & Experience

12–15+ years of total experience, including 7+ years building India operations for US-based software consulting organizations.

Must come from:

• A

  boutique Indian IT services firm

  (30–150 employees) OR
• A

  GCC

  joined in its early stage (20–40 people), focused on tech (not BPO).
• Background in

  non-technical business functions

  (e.g., HR Operations, Finance, Marketing, Business Ops).
• Strong track record of working with US stakeholders/clients.
• Excellent communication, leadership presence, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in setting up processes, scaling operations, and KPI tracking.
• Tech-savvy mindset and entrepreneurial approach preferred.
• B1/B2 US Visa strongly preferred.
